KCD Studio is run by award-winning designer and artist Kate Cameron-Donald. The studio works across brand, graphic design, industrial design, furniture, object and art; blurring the boundaries between disciplines and integrating methods and synthesising knowledge Kate has gained working across varying industries. Kate approaches every project with a holistic vision, and tailors her processes and practice to each unique client and context.

Designed by Industrial Designers Kate Cameron-Donald and Zoe Wenn, the Skynest™ Design recently won the highest accolades at the 2023 Designers Institute of New Zealand’s (DINZ) Best Design Awards - an annual showcase of excellence in Design. The patent protected design won Gold Pins in two categories: Value of Design and Product: Concept/Experimental. It also won the prestigious Purple Pin award for the Product discipline: awarded to the very best piece of design and held up as work that raises the bar of New Zealand design.

Here at KCD Studio, I believe that being surrounded by beauty doesn’t have to come at the cost of our environment. My collection of objects and prints available exclusively from the KCD online store allow you to do both; my processes are socially and environmentally considerate, and my pieces are designed to last a lifetime.
The Covid Flag Project
The ‘Covid Flag Project’ is an art project created and inspired by our Kiwi lockdowns. The collection comprises six hand-painted canvas flags featuring slogans that were engrained into our psyche during lockdown. Limited edition giclée prints were produced for each flag design, available for exclusive print runs. Profits from each flag print sold raised funds for where they were needed most. In 2020, this was for the NZ Women’s Refuge; in 2021 to the UNICEF & COVAX alliance to support an equitable vaccine rollout globally.
