Introducing the award-winning, patent protected Air New Zealand Skynest - the design that went viral on the internet and became an global media sensation within days of launch. The Skynest is a game-changer! Enabling Economy passengers to stretch out, lie flat, escape the busy cabin and get some sleep in the sky.

The concept of beds on transportation isn't a new one, but it hasn’t made its way onto commercial aircraft for passengers before, because of the significant technical and commercial complexities involved. My fellow Industrial Designer Zoe and I are so proud that we've designed the Skynest in a way that's not only desirable, it aligns with the Air NZ brand, and it's feasible to install on an aircraft, despite the mountain of technical, regulatory, and operational challenges we face. It has been a massively collaborative effort to get to this point, and we can’t wait for it to start flying in late 2024.
